Description
Port Welshpool is a place my husband and I regularly go for fish and chips on a Friday night. It is a spot that is well protected by Snake Island and is steeped in history from the gold rush era. Now it is home to fisherman and holiday makers and a few locals. It is a quaint little town that offers a port to go out to the Corner Inlet for great fishing or some fun in the boat! As the shoreline is so protected the beach doesn’t have the crashing waves of a surf beach therefore making it quite safe for young children to splash around. Lots of people walk their dogs along the foreshore too. Port Welshpool is home to a beautiful famous jetty that is 1km long! It attracts many visitors. I love this quite little cove for its sea birds and sea life. This has been my inspiration to paint this scene. What a great talking point this painting would be for your visitors. It would feed their curiosity, don’t you think?
